Dear friends and family,
I wanted to personally bid a farewell to all of you. I am eternally grateful for the love and support I received this past year battling my cancer. While I am leaving my physical body behind, I hope my spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those I hold dear.
The love of my life, Marvin Henry, has not only been my husband for over 61 years, but my best friend and constant companion. I think one of the reasons for our fun, solid marriage was that he never used the word "no"! If I wanted something he thought I should have it!
Life would not have been the same without my beautiful daughter Susan. Our bond is unbreakable, and words cannot express my feelings of love for you and your amazingly talented husband, Ty Godwin, and your two awesome sons Tyler and Trent.
I appreciated the love and support from my son Steve and daughter-n-law Tammie. Tammie, your emotional support and love you showed was unwavering. And you blessed me with your two sons, Steven Jr. and Tanner (wife Shelby), and all the great grandchildren.
I have been truly blessed with the most loyal and caring friends. There are many of you out there, but I especially want to acknowledge Shirley and Conrad Buchanan, who have been lifelong friends. Also, Revonda Smith and Debbie Knight. Both of you have been a part of my life for over forty-five years. And Debbie, it meant the world to me that you were there every step of the way, going to all the doctor appointments, and bringing me all that good food. You know you are my sister.
I want to thank my little brother John Lambert and his wife Sue. You have both been there with your love, support and fantastic meals. And John, you were my "always on call" handyman! And Miss Claire Lambert, an angel on earth, thank you for all your sweet prayers.
And to my group of crazy cousins, who have traveled the world with me, giving me laughter, love, and support, and so, so many wonderful memories. Just remember our saying when things don't go as planned: "This is just another adventure"!
One of my best accomplishments in life was working at First Financial Bank for over thirty-one years. I served on many boards, experienced great opportunities, and retired as a Vice President.
If anyone knows me, they know I love animals. My animals, whether they were horses, dogs or cats, always became family. My latest joys were my donkeys. So, if anyone wants to make a donation on my behalf, please send a donation to Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue PO Box 216 Miles, TX 76861.
I love you all,
Sue
