Stormie Len Jones, 58, of Clyde passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at an Abilene medical center. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene with Rick Riddle officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the church on Tuesday. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Park Cemetery in Mountain Park, Oklahoma under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.
Stormie was born August 6, 1966, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to the late Jim and Judy (Fraley) Jones. He was a varsity football captain and graduated in 1985 from Abilene High School. Stormie earned his bachelor’s degree in Gerontology education in 1998 from Abilene Christian University. He married Jessie Stancil in Abilene on October 14, 2005. Stormie was the owner and administrator of Merkel Nursing Center and Ranger Care Center and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ. He moved from Abilene to Clyde in 2021.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Jones of Clyde; four sons, Kenny Callaway and wife Stashia of Clyde, Stormie Jones and wife Monica of Abilene, Jody Fleming and wife Cheyenne of Abilene and Cameron Jones of Fort Worth; four daughters, Nikki Harwell and husband Jeb of Hamby, Tamara Horsman and husband Jason of Alvarado, Misty Barrett and husband Bryan of Clyde and Cadie Wyatt-Jones and husband Cole of Abilene; two brothers, Kelly Jones and wife Kelly of Oklahoma City and Richard Jones and wife Susan of San Angelo; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren who enriched his life and called him Pappy; and his ride or die friend of over 25 years Anthony Sanchez of Abilene; and many other relatives and friends.
