Oralia 'Lala' Aguirre

Oralia Aguirre (Lala) passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, surrounded by her family and under the care of Hendrick Hospice of Abilene. She was 88 years old.
Oralia was born October 17, 1936, in Melchor Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico. Her parents were Simon Cruz and Josefa Valdez. She married Manuel Aguirre in Muzquiz on August 25, 1955. She has lived in Baird since 1961.
Oralia was a happy homemaker all her married life. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Abilene.
Survivors include her three sons, Sergio Manuel Aguirre and his wife Elsa of Dallas, Hector Aguirre and wife Lupe and Joe Simon and wife Destiny, all of Baird; daughter Gloria Aguirre and husband Manny of Roscoe; along with 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Oralia was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Aguirre; two sons, Jessie Aguirre and Juan Cano Aguirre; one brother, Ramiro Cruz Valdez and one sister, Martha Estella Salazar.
Oralia was a joyous person and loved by everyone in the community. She will be missed by many.
